Médecins Sans Frontières UK
When someone misses a check-in, 85% of their stake is donated to MSF UK and 15% is Pledgd's fee. On a £5 stake that is £4.25 to MSF UK and 75p to Pledgd, in one card payment.
85% of every missed pledge is donated to the charity you chose, currently Médecins Sans Frontières (UK), registered charity no. 1026588. The other 15% is Pledgd's separate platform fee.
About MSF
Médecins Sans Frontières, also called Doctors Without Borders, is an international medical humanitarian organisation. It was founded in France in 1971. Its teams give medical care to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters and exclusion from healthcare.
MSF UK is the UK part of MSF. It is a registered charity, number 1026588. It raises money in the UK and recruits staff for MSF's medical work around the world.

What the money does
Donations to MSF UK help pay for MSF's medical work. That includes running hospitals and clinics, responding to outbreaks and emergencies, and vaccination campaigns.
MSF decides where the money is spent, based on where medical need is greatest. We don't say what a donation “buys”, and we don't quote our own figures about MSF's work. MSF publishes its own.
Why one charity
We started with one charity so that every donation from a miss goes to the same place, and we can tell you exactly where. MSF works where medical care is hardest to reach.
MSF UK is currently the only charity on Pledgd.
The statement
The law asks us to say, next to every mention of money going to a charity, which charity it is and how much it gets. This is our statement, and it appears across the site, in emails and in the app:
85% of every missed pledge is donated to the charity you chose, currently Médecins Sans Frontières (UK), registered charity no. 1026588. The other 15% is Pledgd's separate platform fee.
How it's worked out
| Stake | Donated to MSF UK | Pledgd fee |
|---|---|---|
| £2 | £1.70 | 30p |
| £5 | £4.25 | 75p |
| £20 | £17.00 | £3.00 |
The donation is always 85% of the stake that was missed, and the fee is the other 15%. Both are taken in one card payment, and your receipt shows each part.
How we pass it on
Pledgd is a commercial participator for MSF UK under a written fundraising agreement, and has been their partner since 20 April 2026. We pass donations to MSF UK in regular monthly payments.
How we report the money is on our transparency page.
If a charge is refunded to you, how that is settled between Pledgd and MSF UK is set out in our written agreement with them.
Who we are, and aren't
- Pledgd is not a charity. PLEDGD LTD is a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 16989178. The 15% fee is how it pays for itself.
- Pledgd is independent of MSF. MSF does not run Pledgd, and seeing MSF's name here doesn't mean MSF recommends the app.
- We use MSF's logo with permission. The “Proudly supporting” logo below is supplied by MSF UK under our written fundraising agreement.
- We follow the Fundraising Regulator's Code of Fundraising Practice. To raise a concern about our fundraising, use our complaints procedure.

Gift Aid and tax
Gift Aid does not apply. You pay Pledgd for its service, and Pledgd gives 85% of each missed-pledge charge to Médecins Sans Frontières (UK) as a commercial participator, so the payment is not a personal gift from you to the charity. MSF UK cannot claim Gift Aid on it, and you cannot claim tax relief on it.
